Eligibility Requirements
Age: From 10 years old (Grade 5) to under 18 years old (Grade 12). High school in Canada covers Grades 9–12.
- Students only need to provide their academic transcript/report card from the previous school year in Vietnam to apply for the next academic year in Canada.
- Students who have completed Grade 11 in Vietnam can start Grade 12 in Canada. Upon meeting graduation requirements, they will be awarded a Canadian High School Diploma (applicable to schools in Ontario).
Academic Performance: A minimum GPA of 6.0 or higher.
Language Proficiency: No English proficiency certificate is required in Vietnam. Students will learn English alongside the high school curriculum in Canada.
Clean Record: No criminal history or offenses.
Immigration Status: No relatives residing illegally in Canada.
Health: Sufficient health to meet Canada’s study requirements.
Financial Proof: Savings of at least 800 million VND (proof of income can also be shown from family members: grandparents, parents, siblings, etc.).
Application Process
In Vietnam:
Step 1: Register at EI GROUP for consultation on school and destination selection, submit application documents, and complete financial preparations.
Step 2: Submit an application for a letter of acceptance to the chosen Canadian school (processing time: 2–3 days). Required documents: Passport, Birth Certificate, Academic Transcripts/Report Cards from the past 2 years, Student and Parents’ ID cards, Lower Secondary School Diploma (if applicable), English proficiency certificates (if available).
Step 3: Receive the acceptance letter and pay required fees (tuition, housing, guardian fees, etc.) (processing time: 2 weeks).
Step 4: Receive the Letter of Admission (LOA) from the school to complete the Visa application process (Visa approval takes 2–3 months).
Step 5: After obtaining the Visa, book flights and prepare for departure from Vietnam.
Step 6: Complete immigration procedures and start school in Canada.
In Canada:
High school in Canada covers Grades 9–12, and students must complete 8 subjects: English, Maths, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Applied Skills/Business Education/Fine Art, Planning, and Graduation Transition.
Most Canadian high schools offer AP and IB programs:
- AP Program: Allows students to earn AP credits, enabling them to transition into the first or second year of university. This program is widely recognized by universities in Canada, the U.S., and other countries.
- IB Program: Prepares students for admission to prestigious universities worldwide. The IB diploma in Canada is highly valued in university admissions and scholarship applications globally.
After completing high school in Canada, students can choose to:
