In the midst of the mountains and forests of Son La, the Suoi Bau commune in Phu Yen district emerges through the mist, creating a dreamy landscape like a gentle green scarf draped over the mountain ranges. Few could imagine that this peaceful Suoi Bau commune, so serene, had just endured a hailstorm that blanketed the hills, causing significant damage to the local people.
After the devastating hailstorm, the family of Mùa Thanh Vân, a student from EI Group, suffered severe losses. Their already difficult circumstances were worsened by the storm, which caused trees to fall and part of their roof to be torn off.
Upon hearing the news, representatives from EI Group quickly visited, offered condolences, and provided support to help them recover from the disaster. After delivering gifts and helping Vân’s family repair the roof, we had a chance to talk and better understand her situation.
Her parents are both farmers, working diligently every day on the terraced fields. Not only do they bear the responsibility of supporting the family, but they also devote themselves entirely to ensuring their children can study, hoping for a better future.

The Learning Aspiration Of Mùa Thanh Vân
From a young age, Mùa Thanh Vân has shown a strong determination to step out of her comfort zone to pursue an education and secure a stable job. After learning about her aspirations, the recruitment officers of EI Group visited her school to share information about the program: “Vocational Study Abroad in the Federal Republic of Germany,” and spent a long time convincing her parents.
Recognizing Vân’s ambition and the determination of the recruitment officers, her parents borrowed money so that she could go to Hanoi to learn German and pursue her dream of studying abroad. Mùa Thanh Vân shared that at first, she had no clear plans for the future, thinking she would work in a company like her older peers. However, she felt very fortunate to have met Ms. Hồng and Ms. Xuân, the recruitment officers from EI Group’s Son La representative office, during her high school years. They guided her towards the vocational study abroad program in Germany. Upon learning about this program, she hoped to study and have the opportunity to set foot in Europe.
Determination To Obtain The B1 German Certificate
However, fate always presents many challenges for those with strong aspirations. When she first started her studies, Vân faced numerous difficulties due to her weak foundation in foreign languages, causing her to fall behind her peers quickly. During her first exams, luck was not on her side, and her scores did not meet expectations. Instead of feeling discouraged, Vân chose to persevere. She was determined to review, tirelessly practice past papers, and gradually move closer to her goal of obtaining the B1 certificate.
When faced with financial difficulties and unable to afford accommodation at the dormitory, Vân was fortunate to receive support from the recruitment officers, who kindly opened their homes to her, providing a place to stay and creating the conditions for her to focus on exam preparation. The sleepless nights spent diligently studying finally paid off: Vân excelled in obtaining the B1 German certificate—a testament to her persistent efforts and strong aspirations. It seemed that for this girl, passion and dreams were always the driving forces to overcome all obstacles, to change her family’s future, and to bring pride to her village.
“The biggest difficulty for me was financial, because my family is very poor and couldn’t afford my studies. I was once worried whether I could continue pursuing my dream. But I was very lucky to receive support from the officers at the Son La representative office and from EI Group, who helped with my tuition fees and provided dormitory accommodation. So I worked hard every day. In the end, I passed the B1 German exam within 9 months as per the schedule.”

Now, Mùa Thanh Vân has officially arrived in Germany, beginning her long-awaited journey to study nursing. From a young girl with big dreams in the mountains, Vân has stepped into a new life, carrying with her the determination to conquer knowledge in a foreign land. The challenges of language, culture, and being away from home do not hold her back; on the contrary, they serve as motivation for Vân to strive harder to learn and hone her skills in the nursing field.
